Hey, my name is Christian Awad. I love art and connecting with people. Tattooing gives me the opportunity to create artwork with a personal connection. Each piece represents the person wearing it and I take great pride in bringing their ideas to life. I have been tattooing since 2013 and have mastered many different styles. My preferred style is large scale Japanese sleeves, back pieces and bodysuits. Neo Traditional and American Traditional are also among my favourite techniques to tattoo. I am open to any ideas in other styles or cool out of the box concepts. I do custom work, cover ups, touch ups, fine line tattoos, bold tattoos, flash, lettering, dot work, black and grey, colour, black work, small and large tattoos.
Some of my favourite subject matter to tattoo are animals, flowers, skulls and dragons.
Over the last 20+ years I have been working in the creative field including film, multimedia, illustration, music, writing and marketing. During the early years I was hopeful to find a tattoo apprenticeship with a good mentor. In 2013 I got that chance with Joel Conroy and Glen Paradis at Barnstormer Studio. Having two mentors gave me the chance to learn so much about tattooing, the culture and community. I was privileged to tattoo among some of the worlds best artists while travelling with my craft.
I started Waxwing in 2019 with the goal of building a space where people can get top tier professional tattoos and enjoy the welcome vibes of our cool little artist town. Join me and the Waxwing team in the heart of Almonte and leave with something just for you. My books are always open cause I love tattooing and I love you ❤️
